Who am I?
Home
Hi! My name, as I'm sure you've realized by now, is Lieven Vandelanotte. I was born on September 4, 1978 in Roeselare, a town at the centre of Belgium's coastal province West Flanders. I studied Latin-Mathematics at secondary school, and went on to university to study Germanic Philology. I am currently in the fourth year at K.U. Leuven. I major in linguistics (language theories, computer linguistics and descriptive linguistics), and am preparing a thesis on free indirect speech (applying a broadly functional and corpus-based approach).
I have two brothers and one sister, and two dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy reading up on linguistics, and reading literature of course, but I also like to read up on cars. Apart from that, I am rather fond of gardening - that is, in summer! -, going to the pictures and listening to good music (such as R.E.M., Patti Smith and the like).
